Pastors: from Ray's desk to yours ...

5/6/2010 Update: Some of you have been called by the Lord to  "think big" and have been given a desire to see the children in your whole city or town reached with the Gospel. If that's you, you may be interested in this video!

Evangelism: There are so many questions about evangelizing children today starting with:  is it Biblical to evangelize little children? Can children understand God’s love, their  sin, Jesus, repentance and Biblical salvation? Can children be saved? How old must they be before first hearing the Gospel? What do we do to bring the Gospel in age appropriate language? How do we avoid lapsing into Christianese when explaining the Gospel? What is the Gospel? How do we give an invitation for a child to receive Christ? Is a child saved by raising their hand? How is an invitation structured based upon the child’s age? How do I counsel a child who has responded to an invitation? How is group counseling different than individual counseling?  How do I pray with a child? How do I equip the child after counseling? How do we disciple children whose families don’t go to church? What about children who can’t read yet?

Equipping: There are further questions, irrespective of curriculum used,  related to how to train and equip our children’s Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teachers and staff – many have never been trained in children's ministry – as well as evangelism teams, whether locally or prior to embarking on a foreign mission’s trip. How does a children’s ministry worker teach a song? A memory verse? A review lesson? An evangelistic Bible lesson? A growth Bible lesson?  Then, there are the issues of classroom discipline and engaging hyperactive children in meaningful learning.

May we serve you? We’re here to partner with you in these areas. We also provide training to youth age 13 through college age at a 7 day Missionary Training school the last week in June each year. Further, we provide short or long term mission’s opportunities both in Rhode Island and world wide.  We believe in practical, hands on application oriented training coupled with opportunities to use those skills. If you have a burden for children to be reached with the Gospel and want your congregation to be equipped to reach the current generations for Christ then contact us without obligation. To God the glory.

For the children,

2 Timothy 4:3-5

For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. ESV

John 21:15

When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." He said to him, "Feed my lambs." ESV
